The National Engineering Research Center of Light Alloy Net Forming (NERC-LAF), authorized by the National Committee for Development Planning, was founded in 2001 and constructed on the modern enterprise mechanism in a high and new technique mode. The NERC-LAF is the Chinese national demonstration base of research, development and industrialization of magnesium alloys, aluminum alloys, as well as the net forming processes of the alloys.

Shanghai Light Alloy Net Forming National Engineering Research Center Co., LTD (LAF), supported by the strong scientific research potency of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, is engaged in the production of high quality aluminum die casting, magnesium die casting, squeeze casting. The products of LAF have been applied in the areas of automobiles, electric tools, electronics and telecom, etc., for both domestic and oversea markets.
